According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, there was little change in dry conditions throughout North Dakota over the past week. Portions of Pierce and Benson counties, located in the northeast part of the state, remain in D1 or moderate drought. A large chunk of the northern tier counties, along with Dunn and Mercer counties in west central North Dakota, are abnormally dry. A small area in northeast Minnesota encompassing Saint Louis, Itasca and Aitkin counties is also abnormally dry.
