The White House and congressional leaders trying to finalize a budget deal that would lift the debt ceiling and set new spending levels for the next two years. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin indicates his agency could run out of money by early September if the debt ceiling isn’t addressed. The Senate will be in session for an additional week, providing the Upper Chamber more time to consider a budget agreement.
