University of Minnesota Extension entomologist Ian MacRae says there’s an assortment of insects being found in fields. “Most of these problems seem to be localized, without a widespread occurrence of any one insect pest.” MacRae says north of Fergus Falls, Minnesota there are grasshoppers. Into North Dakota and south of Crookston there is green clover worm. Peak activity for thistle caterpillars is wrapping up across the state.
