The U.S. Labor Department is proposing a change to the H-2A visa program for farm workers. Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue praised the move, saying it will increase access to a stable and legal workforce. The proposed changes include streamlining and simplifying the application process, as well as tweaks to regulations within the H-2A program. Perdue also asked for the USDA web portal to have applications available for farmers, with one completed application sent to both the Departments of Labor and Homeland Security.
