The North Dakota Wheat Commission is sponsoring a pre-harvest marketing seminar in Minot on Wednesday, July 17. Policy and Marketing Director Jim Peterson says the speakers include the Money Farm market analyst Mike Krueger. “He’s going to be covering the issues impacting the market in the last few months and going forward,” says Peterson. “Krueger will also lay out some marketing strategies for producers to obtain the best price possible. Wheat will be the focus, but Krueger can discuss all the crops.” Peterson says someone from the CHS wheat marketing division will also attend the marketing seminar. For the past few years, the low-price environment is challenging wheat. “We’ve been fortunate with strong yields last year, though the crop varies across the region this year,” says Peterson. “We could have a decent crop, but with periods of low prices, farmers should keep an eye open for opportunities.”
