USDA is forecasting North Dakota’s spring wheat crop to total 301 million bushels, down five percent from last year. In Minnesota, spring wheat production is expected to total 91.8 million bushels, down one percent from 2018. Spring wheat production in South Dakota is forecast to decline nine percent, totaling 37 million bushels. Barley production is increasing locally, with production expected to be up 46 percent in North Dakota and up nine percent in Minnesota. North Dakota’s durum wheat production is forecast to decline nearly 40 percent from last year.
