The Renewable Fuel Standard volume obligations got attention as the National Biodiesel Board met by conference call Tuesday. Rolette, North Dakota farmer Ryan Pederson says one of the biggest frustrations is the EPA’s use of small refinery waivers. The National Biodiesel Board also discussed the U.S. Commerce Department’s decision to slash countervailing duty rates on Argentine biodiesel imports. “The timing is somewhat unprecedented; we have some concerns how quickly reviewed it,” says Pederson. The Commerce Department’s preliminary decision would reduce the existing anti-dumping duty from 72 percent to ten percent.
