With saturated soils, nitrogen may be lost in the corn. Channel technical agronomist Derek Crompton says the challenge will be trying to get into some of these wet fields. “You do have the avenue of talking to your local fly guys and there are guys that can drop urea over the top,” said Crompton. “If some of these fields start looking yellow on a large-scale basis and would be worth taking soil and tissue tests and possibly add urea.”
