Market analysts are shifting focus toward Friday’s USDA acreage and the June 1 grain stocks report. Van Ahn and Company owner Kristi Van Ahn says all eyes are on acreage numbers. “The National Agricultural Statistics Service said they have all of their acre information needed for the report. With those acre numbers, they may resurvey soybean acres.” explains Van Ahn. “It’s been awhile since they’ve done that, but in late, wet years they have done that.” It will be a big week for the grain markets. “June 28 is important for multiple things: a huge crop report for acres and quarterly stocks. Corn will be watching quarterly stocks. Usage is the thorn in corn’s side right now. That can weigh the market down, especially with higher than expected corn stocks.”
