North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer chaired a hearing Wednesday that reviewed the Waters of the United States regulations. Cramer criticized the Obama Administration and its efforts with WOTUS. “The EPA administrator at the time promised us that this rule would save us time, keep money in our pockets, cut red tape and give certainty to business. She’s right. The gives certainty; certain death to businesses and a lot of farms if it would have went into effect.” North Dakota Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring testified at the hearing, saying a one-size-fits-all federal intervention is “not reasonable, not workable and not appropriate.” Late last year, the EPA and the Corps of Engineers ordered the WOTUS law be rewritten.
