Farmers in the Page, North Dakota area made good planting progress over the past week.”It was a rough start, but I’d say we’re less than five percent prevent plant now,” says Page Seed and Agronomy co-owner Page Elsner. The cool and wet weather caused some emergence challenges. “Some of the corn went into wet ground and the warm weather really crusted over soils. But, things have really improved lately.” Pioneer field agronomist Jessie Moch says field conditions have been variable across his territory. “Lamoure County is struggling and will have a fair amount of PP acres.” Moch is seeing a widely variable crop. “There are challenges with early stands in the corn, but we’re fighting through some of that.” Watch the Facebook video here.
