Planters continue to roll in Indiana and Illinois. Utterback Marketing President Bob Utterback thinks corn prices got high enough to entice farmers to continue to plant corn rather than take prevented plant. “Even though yields may be substantially reduced, they think the market price action could be good,” he says. “Higher prices are better than prevented plant.” Utterback says corn still has more up-side potential. “I would suggest the market has a pause in the next five to 10 days and then there will be another buying spree going to the end of the month.”
