Statistics Canada released a stocks of principal field crops report Tuesday morning. Overall, the stocks of most grains fell year over year. Total wheat stocks as of March 31 were down four percent from last year to 15.7 million tonnes. Canola stocks are at 10 million tonnes, an increase of 10.5 percent from the same period in 2018. Corn stocks were down five percent to 8.3 million tonnes, and soybean stocks four percent higher at 2.9 million tonnes. According to DTN grains analyst Cliff Jamieson, the report was overshadowed by trade issues in both the U.S. and Canada. View the report here.
