According to Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue, the Trump Administration may seek a quick trade deal with Japan that concentrates on agriculture. Perdue said the limited trade agreement could be expanded to other areas at a later time. President Trump met with Japanese Prime Minister Abe in late April and there’s speculation an announcement could be made later this month in Tokyo. At a news briefing Tuesday, Perdue also said the Administration has no plans to provide another round of Market Facilitation Program payments this year.
