R-CALF USA, along with four ranchers from Iowa, Nebraska Kansas and Wyoming, have filed a class action lawsuit. The suit claims the nation’s four largest beef packers violated antitrust laws, depressing the price of purchased fed cattle by an average of 7.9 percent since January 2015. The complaint was filed against Tyson Foods, JBS, Cargill and National Beef Packing Company, who collectively purchase and process 80 percent of U.S. fed cattle.
