In the latest reporting week, only two locks on the Mississippi River reported any grain barge traffic. Year-to-date total grain shipments are down nearly 30 percent from the three-year average. Spot barge rates for export grain has been declining for three weeks as many shippers are not looking to buy barge services with the high water.
