Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has signed an executive order to support pollinators. It calls on the Department of Natural Resources and the Board of Water and Soil Resources to enhance and protect habitat for pollinators. Habitat will also be protected on state highways and rights-of-way. The executive order calls on the Minnesota Department of Agriculture to promote the judicious use of pesticides and reduce harm to pollinators. The Environmental Quality Board is being directed to establish a plan to engage the public and support efforts to conserve pollinators, like the Monarch butterfly.
