Minnesota dairy farmers and lenders are learning more about the new Dairy Margin Coverage program. Farm bill implementation was the focus at a meeting with House Agriculture Committee Chairman Collin Peterson and Minnesota Senator Tina Smith on Friday. Smith says there were many questions. “Local lenders nodded their heads and said they thought this would be beneficial. They said they would be taking it into consideration as they are working on loans for customers.” The DMC program will be retroactive until January 2019.
