According to the Purdue/CME Group Ag Economy Barometer, concerns about the farm economy are growing. Fifty-two percent of the farmers responding to the survey said they are less optimistic about their farm’s financial future than one year ago. In March, 22 percent of the farms in the survey took a larger operating loan this year than in 2018. Regarding trade, the survey found 77 percent of the farmers believe the trade dispute with China will be resolved in a way that favors the United States.
