China purchased about 300,000 tonnes of corn Friday, underpinning the corn market, but Advance Trading Ag Risk Management Advisor Tommy Grisafi says weather and flooding is impacting corn demand. “Customers are bulled up on corn, because they hear there’s corn ruined. What they’re losing sight of is one-sixth of the ethanol companies in America are currently shutdown or had to tone down production due to freight or other delays,” says Grisafi. “We’ve ruined some corn, but our number one source of using it just changed.”
