One-million pounds of Chinese pork has been seized by U.S. Customs at the Newark, New Jersey Port of Entry. The pork was being smuggled within more than 50 shipping containers. Due to African Swine Fever, the meat is not allowed into the United States. The disease does not affect people, but it would cause significant damage to the U.S. swine industry. The confiscated Chinese pork will be destroyed.
