When it comes to trade discussions between the U.S. and China, Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman Pat Roberts tells the Red River Farm Network he thinks there’s promise of an agreement. “The president has delayed another tariff and that’s a good thing. Every time you have tariffs, there’s tariff retaliation,” says Roberts. “I hope we can reach an agreement and those involved in trade discussions are optimistic.” Roberts also expressed interest in ratifying the U.S. Mexico Canada Agreement as quickly as possible. He says lawmakers are waiting on the completion of the International Trade Commission report before moving forward.
