More than six weeks away from spring planting, National Sunflower Association Executive Director John Sandbakken says sunflowers are in a good position to pick up acres. “Producers are looking at many different options and there’s consideration for the crop,” explains Sandbakken. “New crop prices have started moving up. From what I can see, stocks will be tight by the end of September.” A later spring also favors sunflowers.
