During the month of January, U.S. exports to China declined more than 40 percent. Meanwhile, Chinese exports to the U.S. are down just 2.4 percent from a year earlier. China’s trade surplus with the United States narrowed to $27 million in January. That’s down from nearly $30 million in December.
