First International Bank and Trust-Rugby President Tanner Johnson says 2018 was a tough year for farmers, but the good yields helped. “It’s also a matter of just paying attention and making a move when you need to make that move.” Johnson says there are a few farmers struggling. “It’s important to have a good relationship with your bank, being able to talk through tough times. Those conversations are never easy, but they are conversations that need to happen,” says Johnson. “Sometimes you can make it through by restructuring and sometimes farmers can’t.”
