Minnesota farmers harvested the second largest soybean crop on record this past year. The statewide average soybean yield was 50.5 bushels per acre, up three bushels from 2017. Minnesota’s average corn yield of 182 bushels per acre is 12 bushels below a record 2017 crop. Sugarbeet production declined 16 percent from year earlier levels, with yields averaging 25.7 tons per acre. Minnesota farmers harvested a big spring wheat crop with yields averaging 59 bushels per acre. Dry bean yields averaged 2,360 pounds per acre.
