Minnesota farmers had an average corn yield of 182 bushels per acre this past year, down 12 bushels from last year. In North Dakota, the statewide average corn yield was 153 bushels per acre. That’s 14 bushels higher than 2017 yields. South Dakota averaged 160 bushels per acre, a 15 bushel per acre increase than the previous year. For soybeans, USDA put the Minnesota yield average at 50.5 bushels per acre. That’s a three bushel increase from 2017. North Dakota soybean yields averaged 35.5 bushels per acre, up one bushel from the previous year. The average soybean yield in South Dakota was 46 bushels per acre, up three bushels from the previous year.
