Agriculture Utilization Research Institute officials testified before the Minnesota House Agriculture Food, Finance and Policy committee Tuesday morning to discuss funding. In the discussion, AURI Executive Director Shannon Schlecht updated the committee on the balance of the budget sheet. “We have looked at reserve spending the last couple of years as an organization and we are working hard to grow our funding through additional opportunities,” explains Schlecht. “We are exploring additional federal opportunities, other grants and donation possibilities. We do continue to see a lot of demand coming at us. I expect our work and our budget needs will continue to be around this $4.5 to $5 million into the next few years.” The Minnesota Board of Animal Health also testified before the committee.
