The Minnesota State Fair board of managers has approved nearly $20 million in fairground improvements for 2019. Improvements will include upgrading the stalling and technology in the swine barn. Kay Cady, who is the retired executive director of the Minnesota State Fair Foundation, was inducted into the fair’s hall of fame. Retired State Fair Veterinarian Dr. Thomas Hagerty, who led the Minnesota Board of Animal Health from 1984-to-2001, was elected to honorary life membership in the Minnesota State Agricultural Society.
