Environmental Protection Agency acting administrator Andrew Wheeler has been nominated to lead the agency. During a Senate confirmation hearing, Wheeler emphasized the importance of certainty. South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds asked Wheeler about the process of finalizing the E15 rule. “I believe we were originally planning to issue the proposal in February,” said Wheeler. “It’s not a day-for-day exchange on how much longer it will take us on the proposal (due to government shutdown), but we may be slightly delayed at this point. We will get it done before the summer driving season, provided the government gets funded in a reasonable length of time.”
