The EPA and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has postponed a planned hearing on the new Waters of the United States rule. Due to the government shutdown, the publication of the proposed rule and a scheduled January 23 public hearing will be delayed. The new WOTUS rule was scheduled to be finalized in September, followed by a 60-day comment period. With the postponement, it may be 2020 before the WOTUS rule is updated.
