A California federal judge has granted Bayer’s request to split a major trial into two parts. The first phase would focus on whether or not Monsanto’s Roundup herbicides caused the plaintiff to develop Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. If that can be proven, the trial will move into a second phase that will consider the remaining liability and damage issues. This request is seen as a way to prevent the onslaught of additional federal lawsuits.
