The U.S. Supreme Court will not hear two cases on state livestock standards. California has established cage standards for egg-laying hens. Massachusetts has similar laws blocking the sale of eggs, pork and veal based on the size of their housing. That prompted numerous other states to challenge the ability to regulate agricultural production across state lines. Without comment, the High Court rejected oral arguments on these two cases.
