The Minnesota DNR has approved a permit the proposed Fargo-Moorhead diversion project. The so-called ‘Plan B’ proposal allows more water to flow through Fargo-Moorhead when it floods and reduces the size of the size of the newly flooded area south of Fargo-Moorhead. Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton says this plan also features greater balance between the two states and the number of acres impacted. Despite this permitting, a court injunction must be addressed before construction can begin.
