USDA has finalized new branding regulations for imported cattle. The new rules reduce confusion that has led to animals being improperly rejected for U.S. import. The changes simplify branding identifiers of cattle shipped from Mexico, and should reduce branding errors and the need for rebranding. The new rules are scheduled to go into effect mid-January.
