Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue met with President Trump and White House officials Friday, trying to gain support for the second round of Market Facilitation Program payments. USDA has been at odds with the Office of Management and Budget over the payments. The recent negotiations between the U.S. and China has caused OMB to pause before approving the second-half of those payments. The issue was complicated Friday with OMB Director Mick Mulvaney taking over as the acting White House chief of staff.
