Updating canola growers on production research at the Minnesota Canola Council’s Canola Symposium, site agronomist for the Minnesota Canola Production Center Dave Grafstrom says plant population is very important for good yields. “We really strive for six to nine plants per square foot,” says Grafstrom. “The time of putting five pounds per acre in canola was a good yardstick, but I think that’s changing slowly.”
