The processing and food ingredients portion of the CHS portfolio saw mixed results this past year. According to CHS Executive Vice President Darin Hunhoff, it has been a good year for the soybean processing business. “The soy crush margins have been quite good; the canola market is a little more challenging.” Canola acreage is expected to increase next year. Hunhoff says that is welcome news for the CHS plant in Hallock, Minnesota. “That really increases our ability to run that plant at full capacity.”
