Soybean futures are improving since making lows last September. Basis levels are slightly improving as well. Corn Belt Marketing market analyst Sam Hudson said some of the soybean processor markets have improved even more. “In Nebraska, basis is firming. Farmers found a home for the soybeans, waiting to learn more,” said Hudson. “Basis depreciation is something to consider. If there’s no deal after March, we’re going to have a problem with cash markets again.” Even if the trade war is settled, there are still lots of soybeans to move through the system.
