The farm economy and preparations for a new administration were just two topics discussed during stops on Minnesota Governor-elect Tim Walz’s statewide listening tour. Saturday, Walz received feedback from farmers and agriculture professionals in Moorhead, Crookston and Hallock. “Agriculture’s overarching theme is partner with us, don’t do things to us, do things with us,” said Walz. Walz explained what he’s looking for in Minnesota’s next agriculture commissioner. “We need someone who will be a servant leader, understanding they’re working for farmers and they must have the communication skills,” said Walz. “I’m looking for someone who has the trust and confidence of the agriculture and environmental communities.”
