National Corn Growers Association President Lynn Chrisp is asking USDA for a more equitable approach to the next round of Market Facilitation Program payments. In a letter to Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue, Chrisp said ethanol and ethanol co-products should be considered in the formula for trade mitigation. In the first round of payments, corn farmers received a penny per bushel on half of their production or one-half cent per bushel.
