So far USDA’s Market Facilitation Program has paid out over $837 million to farmers. Top aid recipients include soybean, wheat, corn dairy and hog producers, according to Reuters. The five states receiving the highest amount of aid are Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Indiana and Minnesota. The second round of MFP payments is expected in December. According to USDA, producers who signed up for the first round will be automatically included in the second round. As of now, Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue has said that there are no plans to extend the aid into 2019.
