Minnesota Senator Tina Smith is optimistic the farm bill will get done during the lame duck session. “We are out until after Thanksgiving, but there is plenty of time to get a farm bill done if there is a will to get it done.” Smith says the farm bill passed by the Senate includes additional support for expanding new export markets. Smith is anxious for the current trade dispute to end. “I want to be clear; I think that there were some important things that we needed to do to improve our trade agreements and we need to stand up for ourselves, but we really need to get this resolved.”
