According to United Soybean Board CEO Polly Ruhland, the soybean checkoff continues to focus on building demand for the current large supply of soybeans. One way to build demand is exploring new markets. “India is a great example of a market with incredible potential,” says Ruhland. “If we can get those basic markets online with U.S. soy sold as meal, oil, beans or as meat, we’ll be in better shape when China comes back online.” Ruhland says agriculture will continue to be challenged in the future. “In agriculture, we need to be more dynamic, more flexible and we need to react quicker to the challenges we have.”
