CoBank Economist Will Secor says it will be difficult for soybeans in the next year, but there is some demand potential on the horizon for the large supply. “Looking further out, there will be three soybean processing plants coming on line in the U.S. in the next few years. Two of those will be in the Dakotas.” Secor is optimistic about corn demand. “Livestock numbers are high. We have strong feed demand and export numbers look like they will be pretty strong this year. The one area of concern is ethanol demand, because of weak profitability in the sector. They may pull back on production and this would pull back on demand.”
