Minnesota had the unusual situation of having both U.S. Senate seats up for election. Incumbent Amy Klobuchar won another six-year term with 60 percent of the vote. Senator Tina Smith won over Republican challenger Karin Housley 53-to-42 percent. Smith was appointed earlier this year when former Minnesota Senator Al Franken stepped down. Klobuchar and Smith are both members of the Senate Agriculture Committee.
