Due to the current trade war and the uncertainty in the soybean market, Gavilon has stopped trading grain on its own account. Despite this decision, Gavilon is continuing its normal grain origination and shipment operations. Gavilon’s parent company, The Marubeni Corporation, is reporting profitable quarter, but cited the trade friction between the U.S. and China as a reason to suspend the trading of agricultural futures, options and other financial products.
