Agriculture businesses are concerned about the tariff situation for farmers. Deere and Company Chairman and CEO Sam Allen says the tariffs aren’t good. “We’re talking to the administration all the time. We need to change this because once trade routes are rerouted, it becomes hard to bring them back. Our focus is on what can we do to help the American farmer.” Allen says the steel and aluminum tariffs are impacting the company, but it can be managed. “Once someone like China says we’re not going to buy U.S. soybeans, they’re going to come from somewhere else. Once they come from somewhere else, the ability to get that back and get it flowing normally gets to be much more difficult.”
