A commercial turkey herd in Minnesota’s Kandiyohi County is dealing a low pathogenic avian influenza. This is not the same virus that caused the highly pathogenic avian influenza in 2015. This current situation is not a risk to people and there is no food safety concerns for consumers. The disease was found through routine surveillance testing. The flock is quarantined and at this time the birds are not showing any signs of illness or mortality.
