Mother Nature has given growers a window for harvesting and farmers are taking advantage of it. South 89 Seed owner Amy Brateng, who is based at Roseau, MN says conditions have improved locally. Corn and soybean yields are highly variable. “Anywhere that it was really dry, we’ve had disappointing yields,” said Brateng. “In the areas that had rain and in soils that hold moisture better, we have some yields that are really fantastic as well.”
